Hey! What is this, my website? Weird. I have an updated reel of my past year or so in the biz. I am currently hoping to redesign this website but as many working animators can attest, it’s quite hard to stay on top of this sort of stuff. Keep an eye for the future.

I always forget this website exists! No not mine…well… no, 11secondclub.com! I stumbled across the winner’s animation mentor critiques and thought to myself, “why aren’t I doing this?” I had no good answer, so, I am going to create a submission! I will probably post updates here on my blog. I may as well right, this blog has gotta have some sort of use. My submission will be a 2D animation because I want to make this animation harder on myself. haha. Depending on how it goes I’ll probably end up doing a 3d one next month. Look for an update soon!
Holy cow I did some animation at home on my free time! I think this is going to be a common thing nowadays… I may have a project idea up my sleeves. Here is a TEASER
Finally saw Coraline this weekend. It was epically amazing. First people listed on the credits were the animators! They deserve it too. The animation in this film is amazing. Not just in terms of stop-motion, but in general. Every character has their own awesome little tick that makes them special. Congrats to the Coraline crew. Seeing this definitely ramps up the excitement I have for the stop-motion project I plan to start working on.
Yah! Interwebz! Blogospheres! Just wanted to post something figuring that maybe it’ll get me back into this. I have a new respect for any blogger. Keeping up is hard… especially if you don’t do anything but work and play video games all day. It’s not my fault! New ones just keep coming out! Looking at my cartoony little gaming paintings make me want to do more. Its been a year or more since I have done anything like that. I am getting an artists itch. Things to look forward to: This Is Vegas getting closer and closer to completion. Animation Club. The works of Doug Tennapel have recently inspired me. (Earthworm Jim, The Neverhood, Gear, Tommysaurus Rex, Sockbaby, and many more.) I sense some claymation in my near future.
Well I have been interning at Surreal Software since July. It has been an awesome experience. My internship is progressing and I am movin on up! My internship title will be replaced by a “contract animator” title, which results in more experience, one step closer to a full time position and more moolah. Unfortunately I have not been able to work on any paintings or drawings like I had planned to. This whole work thing is a lot of work! Not to mention the past couple months have been a gamers dream. Halo 3, Orange Box, and Phantom Hourglass all decided it was a good idea to release at the same time while Mario Galaxy comes out in 2 weeks. I still havn’t picked up metroid prime 3 and I am actually kind of glad Smash Bros. Brawl got delayed a few months. I am practically in gamer sensory overload! Eventually I will get back into the drawing/painting. Anyway, just thought I would actually update this whole “blog” thing of mine. Get back into the swing of updating! Lata!
OMGZ I havn’t updated in forever. I have all sorts of things going on right now. I’ve been putting together logos for my moms work. I am going to start an INTERNSHIP! I am set to start an internship at Surreal Software at the end of the month. I am super excited. Summer quarter started! It is my last quarter then I am going to be all gradumacated! I have to get my portfolio all together and a demo reel etc. etc.
Lots o stuff. Anyway. Yah…the weekly paintings got me doing stuff during break. I was hoping to continue during the quarter, but I may actually change the focus to an animation rather than a painting. We’ll see.

Bungie has announced a contest to submit emblems for their next game, Halo 3! Since I am a huge fan of Bungie and their games I figured I should submit an entry.
My emblem is based off of the Hunter, one of the alien forces you must defeat in the game.

For mythology class we had to recreate a myth in some sort of video presentation format. After being teamed up with a partner we decided to do an animation in flash based off of a Chinese creation myth. My partner for the project, Renita, did the wonderful drawings, and I did the storyboard an animation in flash. Nothin special, but entertaining.
