Walter Animation Update

The quarter is over! yaaaaaay! 3 week break! wooooooo! I have not updated in a while. Been busy with school and work and halo 3 beta. Now that the Halo 3 beta is over (as well as school) I will use my free time for other things! I do not draw very much anymore so I have decided to do a weekly drawing/painting thing…so each week I am going to try and get a piece of art done and post it here on this blog. So look forward to that. Hopefully it will be fun and I will get some good work. I have to keep crafting my skills somehow.

Another update! The animation is getting there. I just need to go through it with a fine tooth comb and tweak and tune.

First things first. Pixar responded to my Internship application. I did not get chosen. It is sad but I understand. The process of compiling my work and submitting it to a job scenario was educational in itself. After submitting my reel to Pixar I was inspired to do a higher quality of work. That is my inspiration for this golf piece and so far I consider it some of the best work I have done.

It is officially the middle of the quarter! As promised I have two cycle animations to show. I have mixed feelings about them, I am going to tweak them by the end of the quarter. After I get some time away from them, I will be able to get a fresh eye on their movements.

Alright. So, what to expect for the remained of the quarter? WEBSITE UPDATES! we are talking content additions, interface adjustments, and the like. If it can be tweaked and made better, it will. What i have now is the basic structure, so there is room for vast improvement. In addition to that I am going to do a second animation, no more than 30 seconds. I am in the process of determining the story and actions I want to tell in this piece.

So thats whats up and keep an eye out for an animated myth in the not to distant future

p.s. No word from Pixar yet. The deadline was just last Friday so I imagine they are still going through all the submissions.

I have been animating all day. My two animations are almost complete. I still have a few tweaks here and there on them. Expect an update with the animations SOON! (by wednesday at the latest…since…well…thats when they are due!)

Once these are done I am going to be working on my website. You know those COMING SOON pages? Well, I want to get stuff in them so I am going to start working on that as well as plan out a longer animation to complete in the remaining 5 weeks of the quarter.

Wow….we are already half way through the quarter? Eek.

I just got the new Pokemon game for DS and oh man is it addicting. Today I was able to set it aside and get to work on some animation! Here is my progress on a walk cycle I am working on for my senior project two class. It still needs some work but this is where I am currently at.

Woaaaah, that was one heck of a yesterday! Finally get to update my blog here. I put together my final animations for my senior project class into a “mini reel.” I didn’t get to do all the animations I had planned, but I like what I was able to get finished.

That is what I got done. Next quarter I am taking a second senior project class and will create even MORE animation! So stay tuned. This place will continue to host updates of my work from classes to personal.

Over the next week I plan to start and even finish an animation to include in a reel. So stay tuned for updates on that.
